Jason Peru Bio

After graduating with an Associate In Sciences Degree in Culinary Management from The Trinidad & Tobago Hospitality & Tourism Institute (TTHTI ) in 2004 Chef Jason Peru was awarded three scholarships to attend Johnson & Wales University (JWU) in Miami. While attending JWU, Peru worked at various top of the line Miami hotels and restaurants including the celebrity famed restaurant, Karu & Y Lounge where he worked with his mentor, Alberto Cabrera formerly of El Bulli Restaurant in Roses, Spain. At Karu & Y Lounge Peru cooked for many international celebrities namely P. Diddy, Gloria Estefan, Al Pacino, JLo just to name a few.

Peru maintained the Dean’s List throughout his tenure and graduated from Johnson & Wales University (JWU) with Honors and upon returning to Trinidad & Tobago, Chef Peru worked as a Catering Supervisor at the ICC Tournament, as well as Sous Chef at The Jaffa Restaurant at the Oval. However in July 2007 he landed the position of Chef Lecturer and co-head of the Culinary Department of his Alma Mata TTHTI, where he has represented our nation in various culinary events including the T&T Food Festival which was hosted by the High Commissioner of Trinidad & Tobago in Uganda.

Chef Jason Peru has become household name in the Hospitality Industry having ventured into Television entertainment/Culinary grounds as the Resident Chef of Synergy TV appearing on Celebrity Chef Weddings and other shows. Throughout the years, Chef Jason Peru has developed into a well respected individual and cherishes his experiences in the Culinary world.
